Social Anxiety Program
This program is offered by psychiatrists.
A family physician referral is
mandatory
to see a psychiatrist.
In this program, the psychiatrist evaluates the client and provides for the care of the client. He follows the client on a regular basis – the length of time and the frequency of the follow-up is at the discretion of the psychiatrist. When the follow-up is no longer necessary, the client is then redirected to his family physician who will continue the psychiatric follow-up.
The psychiatrist will mainly monitor the psychiatric medication mutually agreed upon with the family physician. If necessary, the psychiatrists complete an application for the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP or POSPH in French. Psychiatrists can also fill out reports for insurance purposes, if necessary.
The psychiatrist may also refer the client to other programs offered by the CRCC and/or refer the client to other community resources.
The CRCC does not provide psychiatric evaluations for the court or any forensic psychiatric services.
