- This program is offered by psychiatrists.
- A family physician referral is mandatory to see a psychiatrist.
- In this program, the psychiatrist evaluates the client (1 to 4 meetings) and provides the following services:
- Provide recommendations for treatment to the family physician
- Complete an application for the Ontario Disability Support Program, if necessary (ODSP or POSPH in French)
- Fill out reports for insurance purposes, if necessary
- No medication will be prescribed unless there is a hazard to the client’s health (risk of withdrawal, emergency prescription...)
- The psychiatrist may also refer the client to other programs offered by the CRCC (including the psychiatric follow-up program) and/or refer the client to other community resources
- The CRCC does not provide psychiatric evaluations for the court or any forensic psychiatric services.
